Emeritus Professor Greg Whateley

Greg Whateley brings a wealth of leadership and academic experience to the table. With a career spanning over five decades, Dr Whateley is well known for his contributions to higher education, arts management, business management and the innovative application of virtual pedagogy, in particular. 

Throughout his career, Professor Whateley has held senior leadership positions across Australia’s most respected institutions. He has served as Head of School at Griffith University, Deputy Dean at the Queensland Conservatorium, Director at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, General Manager and Professor of Management Science at the Australian Institute of Music, Principal at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music, Director of Education and Quality at the National Centre for Language Training (University of New South Wales), Dean of The College at Western Sydney University, Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Vice Chancellor at Group Colleges Australia, Chief Executive and Executive Dean at the Australian Guild of Education, Deputy Chief Executive at the Australasian Academy of Higher Education. He is currently consulting interim Executive Dean at the Sydney International School of Technology and Commerce and a Visiting Professor in Thailand and Italy. 

Nationally and internationally, he has contributed to educational programs and research in four states of Australia and five countries, and having 1000+ publications to his credit has cemented his reputation as a global education leader and commentator. He is currently Chair/Member of numerous Boards as well as holding numerous Fellowships.
