Associate Professor Christopher McLeod

Christopher joined the Australian Guild of Education (formerly the Australian Guild of Music Education) in April 2023 where he held a range of academic roles including Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor. He was appointed as Course Coordinator (Music) in June 2025 as part of the expansion program at AGE. 

 

He is an experienced professional musician and film composer working with musical luminaries such as Rhonda Burchmore, Leo Sayer, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Symphony in a day Project, and numerous radio and television appearances. His work as a film composer has developed over several years to include indie productions as Composer, Soundtrack consultant, and Additional music. 

 

Christopher is also an experienced pedagogue in school environments where he led the revitalisation of programs through curriculum and ensemble development. His data driven approach to inform pedagogical practice was a key factor in the achievement of student study scores at the VCE level. He led multiple teams of teaching staff (classroom and instrumental) in gaining key strategic objectives within the scope of programs. 

 

Christopher is a regular contributor to several platforms including Musicum20, Invigilator Plus and Medium.com. He also remains active as a freelance musician and film composer locally and internationally.
